Gapuff the Not-so-Magic Dragon

Gapuff and his struggles with heartburn came about after I discovered you could make more than paper hats with origami. Naturally, my first instinct was to make a dragon.

Gapuff was soaring through the air. He twisted and he turned, he flapped his wings and propelled himself forward effortlessly. At least, that’s how he felt. If you happened to see him flying past, you may have likened it to the thrashing of a dying seal who suddenly found himself inexplicably in the air. Feeling a familiar rumbling in his chest, Gapuff groaned. The burning sensation rose in his throat as he glided downwards in a heavy spiral. He found a sheltered spot and landed with an uneven thump as the searing pain in his chest became unbearable. With a quick check to ensure nobody was watching, Gapuff let out an almighty belch. The red and orange flames flickered through the air and emitted a distinct smell of burned wool. Bloody acid reflux. He knew he’d eaten that sheep too fast.
